Health & Safety Today
The American Red Cross has provided health and safety services to the American public for nearly a century.
From first aid, CPR, blood borne pathogens training to baby-sitting courses to swimming and lifeguarding,
American Red Cross preparedness programs help people lead safer and healthier lives. Today's innovation
programs also include teaching laypersons and professionals how to use automated external defibrillators
(AED) to save victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Last year, over 4,000 people were trained in the Watauga
County Chapter's jurisdiction of Watauga and Avery Counties.
